Winter Is Here

I know its been a while since I've been on, I guess life gets a little busy when you have a little one!

Lane is now 7 weeks old.
He has discovered his tongue, which is very funny to watch. He's smiling more when you talk to him. So you can see that cute little dimple on his left cheek that matches daddy.
Growing like a weed!! He's getting bigger every day!
4 weeks old he rolled over from his belly to his back and finally he did it again and daddy got to see now its a regular thing. He loves being on his belly any chance he gets.

Justin has been coming home every week for the past couple weeks so Daddy and Lane have been bonding, this week Justin had to go to Mitchell so its just me and Lane. This is Justin's last week of work then he will be home all the time!!!

This Thursday I have to go into work so Lane is going to Daycare for his first day. Diane is the daycare that Justin and I went to together.

Saturday, December 12 Lane will get baptized. We're having cake and coffee and Grandma and Grandpa Scheibel's house.

I can't wait for Lane's 1st Christmas. I have bought his a couple things but of course he can't use them for a couple more months. Actually I bought his a little 4 wheeler from Wal-Mart it was on sale one day I went there so I had to buy it. I thought maybe they won't have it next year, so I'll just wrap it next year. Of course I'm sure he's grandparents will spoil him this Christmas.

Thanksgiving~ Thursday was with my family and he got spoiled by my 2 cousins 12 and 15 years old. They love babies. Friday we went to Justin's parents house and he got spoiled there. Aunt Jesse loved holding him and feeding him. Grandma Peggy bought him his first pair of wranglers so he was wearing them for Thanksgiving. Here is a picture.
Mommy's Little Cowboy!

Lane had his first play date in November with my friends little boy Neil.
Neil was born August 18, he is 3 months old in this picture Lane is 1 month.

Beautiful Fall Day

Had to post this.

Today Lane and I went for our first walk. Beautiful weather so I thought it would be good to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Then we got back and played with Tuff & Roper. Tuff was morre interested in what was in the stroller than playing fetch, Roper of course was playing fetch.

I hope there are more beautiful days while I'm on maternity leave.

Saturday Justin is going deer hunting and Lane, Grandma Coleen and I are going to Sioux Falls to go shopping.

Yankees Win!! Lane is 3 weeks old

Yankees Won the World Series last night!!

Thursday, November 5 which is the date I wanted Lane to be born on because it was my grandmas birthday and how cool it is that 3 weeks ago he was born. I can't believe its been 3 weeks already he'll be 1 year old before I know it. WOW!!!!

Today he is supporting the Yankees.
Tomorrow we are going to get Professional Pictures taken which I'm totally excited for.

I just can't wait for Justin to be home all the time, even though him working and getting a paycheck is nice. I like it when its just the 3 of us!!!

He's a Yankees Fan

Just had to blog this.

Friday and Saturday night Lane slept great 3 hours between feeding and that let mommy get some sleep. I was actually up at 8:00 Saturday morning and didn't take a nap.
But Sunday night when mommy and daddy wanted to go to bed at 9:00 Lane was not about going to bed early. He was fussy and just wanted to eat and cuddle on the recliner with his mommy. I hope he's not figuring out that I spoil him there. But I don't think I am, I think a mom has a right to cuddle with her son. Anyway so he ate and then didn't want anything to do with his crib. I turned the tv on and we sat in the chair watching the Yankees vs Phillies and at 11:00 when the game was over he was OUT. I think he just wanted to watch the game to make sure the Yankees won. I wonder if he'll be like that tonight??
I just thought it was funny how he just wanted to stay up and then was out when the game was over.

Yesterday and today the sun is out and looks beautiful out, I really want to take Lane in the stroller and go for a walk but I think its still a little to cold to take the little one out. Wait a couple months when its SPRING then we can go.

Back to Monday, Justin left for work this morning and its just me and Lane. We got lucky last week with Justin being rained out Thursday and Friday so he was home for 4 days. I really liked that now today I am missing him. We'll see how the weather holds up this week. I haven't had a week yet by my self but this week I feel much better about doing things and doing them on my own. Soon Justin will be home.

Saturday-Halloween
We didn't do anything but rented movies and stayed at home.
I did buy Lane a Baby's 1st Halloween Onesie and he wore that. A lady who brings supplies to my work made a blanket with a scarecrow and pumpkins on it so we took some pictures of Lane on his 1st Halloween. It was hard to get a decent picture with him looking but they are still cute. This Saturday would have been Lane's due date. Wow I can't believe on Thursday he will be 3 weeks old. Time is flying by. I think back on the day I went to the hospital and it seems so long ago. Don't want to go through that again anytime soon. I will take the time and enjoy my little one for now. Glad Lane came into the world early and healthy. Again I think he came into the world early to see the Yankees in the World Series. :)

I guess that is it for now. Once we got out and about and do more things the blog should sound more interesting now its just sitting at home spending time with each other and our son.

Take Care Everyone

Life Changes...for the good

Hello Everyone

Why is everyone sick? Can't people just be healthy and the world be rid of all sicknesses?? Wouldn't that be great.
Right now we aren't taking Lane out in public and being careful who comes in contact with him. We don't need him to get sick.

Night time is going good, some nights are better than others but can't complain. Though mommy is really looking forward to an 8 hour sleep, but that will come in time. I just keep thinking that I have nothing going on and Lane sleeps in the afternoon so I have time to take naps. And I usually get my energy after I'm up and moving around and not rocking him. Lane likes his cuddle time with his mommy at 2:30 am. Maybe because he was born at 3:41 a.m. he thinks its time to be awake then. Mommy better talk to him to let him know that am means sleep pm means awake. Crazy little boy!!!!

Thursday and Friday Justin has been home because rain and snow...YES I said SNOW!!!
Thursday, Lane had tummy time and boy does he love that. He has a very strong head. Lifting it up left and right. We got video of him lifting his head up but I'm not sure how to put a video on here. So here's a picture.

Then he was resting in daddy's arms and he starts making his usual noises while sleeping and the noise sounded like a dirt bike starting up. Justin and I just busted out laughing, he just kept on doing it. By the time I got the camera to get a video of it he stopped but I got a little of it.

Today, Friday we just have been hanging out, not much to do when its snowing. I guess its Lane's first snow and he can't even go out in it. Which is ok!! There will be plenty of those days to come.

My mom went and bought Lane some sleepers and here is one that looks like a baseball uniform so he looks like a little baseball player. Lane says "GO YANKEES"!!!

Well that is it for now, my time is consumed by Lane, bottles, dirty diapers, naps and eating when I can...BUT I LOVE IT!!!

Have a Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Our Beautiful Son

Here is Daddy showing Lane his "brothers" Tuff and Roper. Tuff really wants to meet Lane face to face. He'll have to wait until this Spring and Summer when its warmer and Lane is bigger.

Here is Lane in one of his MANY Camo outfits. What a stud!!
Sunday we left to go home from the hospital Lane weight 8 lbs 7oz
Tuesday back to the hospital for a check up and he weight 8lbs 10.6 oz
Thursday went to the Dr for Lane's check up and he weight 8lbs 12 oz
What a growing boy!!

HE'S HERE!!!!

Our beautiful baby boy is here!!!

When the Dr. says 2 weeks he means anytime.
Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. my water broke
10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning I was admitted into Hospital!!
Dr told me I would be having a baby with in the next 24 hours. He was right!
3:00 AM Thursday came and I wasn't making any progress I was still dilated to a 3.5 so Dr said we are going to have to do a C-Section. My water was broke for 36 hours and it was time to get him out.
3:41 AM at 8lbs 11 oz Lane G was born.

Beautiful Baby Boy, lots of dark black hair and chubby cheeks!!!!
Mommy and Daddy loved him at first sight.
Daddy got to give him his first bottle while mommy was still down getting things done after the delivery.
He has been doing great.
Friday we have found that his vocal cords do work and that when he's hungry, he's hungry and wants it now. That he totally gets from his mommy!!!!
We think he looks like his daddy but has his mommies nose and chin. PERFECT!!!

We are at the hospital until Sunday, seems kind of long but the days have been busy and going fast. Tomorrow is already Saturday.

Justin and I are loving the parenthood life, of course as we are at the hospital we have more help and can bring him to the nursery so we can sleep at night. We'll find out what those 3 am feedings are like soon!! But hey its all worth it!!!! I would get up in the middle of the night for him.

But that is all for now time for bed or a few other things that I think should have been done today but didn't happen.

Lane is content now as daddy just fed him so he is out like a light after his belly is full.

Time for rest for mommy and daddy.

Till Next time,
The family of 3

READY OR NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Not a very eventful weekend but it sure seemed to go by fast and that I got nothing done.

Friday was my Dr Appt and Dr. G said that I will be a mommy sooner than later. I have 4 weeks until my due date and he's giving me 2 weeks. With all my contractions I had last week my body was doing something and getting ready for something. Dr G couldn't find babies head so he said that is a good thing that he's not as big as we thought. But he said baby will be here. So Justin and I are getting ready. Justin drove to Huron this morning(Monday) so he has a vehicle to get back to Brookings in case I go into labor. Hopefully if I do the weather is good for him to drive back. We don't need me and him in the hospital. I need him for support.

Friday night Justin stayed in Mitchell and worked Saturday. I wasn't feeling the best Friday night so I stayed at my parents house. Then headed home Saturday morning, the dogs were happy to see me. Though I've been feeling so bad that I haven't played with them as much as I usually do. But they have each other and a big yard to play, they have to learn they can't get spoiled everyday. Saturday I pretty much laid around, did some dishes and other things around the house and took a nap. My naps, I love them right now!!! My hubby finally came home early Saturday night, we just hung out at home and watched some TV.

Sunday did some chores around the house. Which I'm very thankful for my WONDERFUL SUPPORTIVE husband!!!
Sunday night I started getting really bad backpain, pinched nerve, OUCH. It got me down to the bottom I wanted this baby out and I didn't want to go through it again. I cried but Justin came over and rubbed my back which helped for a little bit. That was my breaking point. So I laid in bed for 2 hours. Good thing baby is taking up alot of room that I'm not very hungry. I couldn't even sit or stand to eat my cereal for supper.

Slept alright but can't wait till I'm my normal self. I like my cuddle time with my hubby. Monday morning I'm feeling 80% better than yesterday. This morning I just have little cramping from sitting but its just uncomfortable more than pain, which I can handle. I can't wait for Baby to come!!!

Though it would have been cool if Baby Lane would have came yesteday because it would have been Lane Frost's birthday. How cool, I guess Lane Vostad will just have to have his own birthday. And since the dr is thinking he'll be a October baby I have things to get done at work today so good thing he didn't come yesterday.

I think the only reason he wants to come early is to see the YANKEES go to the Series!!!! He has a Yankees Onesie waiting for him!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and are staying warm in this lovely fall/winter weather!!

Later!

My "boys" love me!!

Been having cramping all week, the nurse said as long as I am laying down and they are going away they are just Braxton Hicks Contractions if I lay down and they don't' go away then I'm going into labor. I have a dr appt on Friday afternoon and the dr will check to see if I'm dilated or not. I think baby is ready to come out, maybe he likes the cold weather?!?!

Or he wants to see the Yankees in the Series!! :)

Anyway so I've been feeling like crap all week other than at night when I get home I lay down and my hubby is so wonderful and has been helping around the house Monday and Tuesday while he was home. I've been actually sleeping great at night other than having to go to the bathroom every 1/2 hour to an hour. So I've been waking up feeling great, its the 20 min car ride into town sitting in the seat that gets me...here come the contractions. Fun Stuff!! Anyway enough complaining.

Last night I stopped at my parents house to pay my mom for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Shirts, which disappointing are brown but still the money goes to a good cause. And she asked if I wanted to stay for supper I said sure, gave me time to lay down and just relax. It was arond 6:45 when I got home. The street we live on is close to the school and I happen to look down that street when I was heading home and saw this yellow lab. I was thinking to myself "that sure looks like Tuff" so I raced the 1/2 block home went to check the kennel and sure enough the kennel was all messed up and a little hole dug and NO DOGS. I was like just great, so I got back in my car hauled a** to the school and sure enough there was Tuff wandering around. He KNEW he was in TROUBLE. I figured he would be easy now where the heck is Roper??? I looked around and there he was at the house across from the school (the loud barking dog house) I called him over got him in the car and went home. They were naughty.
I have NO idea how the heck Tuff got out of this hole, I have a picture I will post today. Its small I'm not even sure how Roper got out either. But needless to say they screwed up the kennel.
OH COURSE the day Justin isn't home they decide to get out.
I'm guessing another dog or animal was in our yard and Tuff was freaking out and kept jumping on the kennel and shook it enough to move it off the cement and on to the rocks and grass and then they just dug. This happened Saturday morning there was a dog in our yard and Tuff was freaking out but didn't get out. Sooo since I can't do much my parents are coming to screw the kennel down to the cement so they can't get the kennel loose anymore. Hopefully they are home when I get there tonight.

I have a massage at 5:30 tonight and I want to get all relaxed so the dogs better be home.

Tuff sure was thirsty when he got home so I'm not sure how long they were out. Last time they got out because I FORGOT to hook the kennel Tuff was home but Roper was 2 blocks down caught in the baseball fields. He got in but couldn't figure out how to get out. Luckily we got them. DARN DOGS!!!

I wish we could afford to put a fence up around our yard so animals stop coming in our yard and the dogs will stay in our yard. We have an invisible fence and the dogs are really good about staying around the yard when they have the collars on. But they sure are Smart dogs.

That was my interesting Wednesday Night. Things always happen at our house when Justin isn't home. That happened to me a couple times last year it was always on a Monday night when something would go wrong and Justin wouldn't be home. Now if I wasn't pregnant and feeling like crap I probably could have done more but what is a girl suppose to do.

Yeah they are SOOOO INNOCENT

Thankful for my wonderful Dad who has helped me out and again will help me!!

Lovely Fall

Hello!

Today, Monday, October 5,2009
I feel uncomfortable and ready to have this baby. Though my goal this weekend was to get the hospital bags in my car and they are sitting in the middle of the nursery. Ok so its just my bag that needs to be finished so I'm pretty much done.

We had a great relaxing weekend, I was going to get a picture of my belly this weekend but everytime I think I'm going too I don't. My reason this weekend was Saturday I didn't take a shower and stayed in "non" picture taking clothes and Sunday we just weren't home.

Saturday we were actually up early (8:00 a.m., that is early for us these past weekends).
Friday night we had Papa John's Pizza and rented some movies. Nice cuddle time on the couch. We watched Ghost of girlfriends past, pretty good movie. I think we were in bed by 10:00. Getting those "baby" hours in.
Saturday Justin wanted to go site his rifle in for deer season. We went out to the farm, Konnor(nephew) was out there and hung out with him while it was raining out. Then it stopped and went out to do some shooting. Well I was going to shoot his 22 but it was 1:00 after he got his rifle sited in so we stopped and acutally went into town for some lunch. I think Justin gets spoiled during the week and never wants home cooked food. OH well we have to treat ourselves sometime. Then we got back home and I took a nap and he cleaned the garage. This boy can't sit still for the life of him. Good and bad thing. Saturday night we watched more of the movies we rented and again were in bed I think between 10:00-11:00. I can't seem to get much sleep lately and I ended up on the couch and we both slept until 10:00 Sunday morning.

Sunday we headed into town ate lunch at McDonalds. Which I usually hate McDonalds but being pregnant I love their chesseburgers. Ate there then headed to my parents house. Took my mom our for ice cream for her birthday. It ended up being just me and her because no one else thinks ice cream is good on a semi cold day. Heck mom and I can eat ice cream WHENEVER!!! Yummy! Though I love ice cream, it always sounds good to me while being pregnant.

My aunt found a cute halloween costume for Lane probably when he's 2 years old. But its a cute stuffed horse then you put the person in the middle so it looks like he's riding the horse. I'll have to get a picture of it so it makes more sense. But its very cute! So in 2 years we'll have a cowboy and his horse for halloween. Even though that is what he'll be right when he comes out of mommy's belly is a cowboy.

Then we stopped at Runnings to just look around, though we could buy alot of things at that store and we walked out just buying drinks and chocolate covered peanuts.

We headed home and took the dogs out to the farm and then Dave(Justin's dad) bought us Pizza King pizza for supper, you can NEVER pass up that kind of supper. Got home and either it was the pizza or small contractions that were bothering me. I reclined on the chair and was hoping I wasn't going into labor. So far baby is still in the belly. We watched Cold Case and off to bed we went. I am so uncomfortable and ready for this baby to come. Acutally last night and this morning I thought for sure I would be going into labor, but I guess my body is just getting me ready.

Its raining again this morning and Justin was suppose to go to Huron for work but its raining harder there then in Brookings so he is home today. Even though this is a month early if baby wants to come early he should come today because daddy is already home.
As you can tell I'm wanting him to come but I also want him to wait until around November anyway. And I'm looking forward to my November and December time off from work!!!

On a good note today a wonderful guy from the church remembered me talking about how I've been craving coffee/hot chocolate last week and so he dropped in this morning and brought me some hot chocolate. Boy did that make my day. Yummy!
This morning has been really busy at work which makes my "wonderful" Monday's go fast. Its already 11:30, 1/2 hour until lunch!!

I get my hair highlighted today, I'm very excited for. And Thursday I get a massage. I think this should be a good week. Beats the boring on going week I had last week.

So that was our weekend, nothing to eventful but maybe someone will be intersted to know what goes on in the Vostad World. Sometimes I surprise myself!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Down to the Wire

Weekly Dr Appts means ANYTIME BABY IS READY!!!!

Had a Dr appt yesterday, which everything is going good. And the Dr said usually babies who come around 36 weeks do just fine but most babies come around 38 weeks. I told him I want the baby out but waiting until the end of October would be fine with me!!

I fell on my parents step yesterday at lunch time and well my own fault because it was a very rainy day and I had my flip flops on, needless to say my mom told me I should not be wearing them anymore. The Dr actually laughed at me because I was wearing flip flops. Today I'm wearing tennis shoes, not very stylish but they work. I fell on my butt so baby is fine, now mommy on the other hand is very sore!! But all is good.
Now I start doing my every week appt and all the "fun" stuff at the Dr appt.

Oh yeah and next Thursday I'm getting a massage, so that should fell really good on my sore body. And on Monday I'm getting BLONDE highlights in my hair, I can't wait!!!
I'll be "One Hot Mama"!!

I'm really excited for Baby Lane to come, its really hitting me that I'm going to have a baby. Everyone keeps saying how our lives are going to change but I think we are expecting that since we've wanted this for so long. And of course it was planned so I think we knew it was going to be a life changer. Change is sometimes good! This change is GREAT!
I'm really surprised at myself that I'm more excited than nervous, because usually I'm nervous/worrier about anything.

Actually the other night I was going downstairs after getting a glass of water and freaked out alittle that I didn't want to be home by myself when I went into labor. That is probably the only thing I've worried about lately. Maybe I'll have to bring Tuff in the house to sleep with me and be there for me. HA-like he would be any help. He would just roll over and be like heres my belly pet it please!! What a spoiled dog!

This week I haven't been feeling all that great, just tired and not feeling myself. Nothing serious no flu or anything. And the poor dogs haven't gotten much time to play fetch, but at least its been raining so then I have a bigger excuse. They will have all weekend to play. They are getting alittle better and wandering the yard now instead of sitting on the deck. I mean come on we have this huge backyard they have plenty of room to play. SPOILED DOGS!!!

Cali has ventured downstairs to our room now and has been sleeping on my pillow at night Sunday-Thursday night she's been down there hogging the pillow. I think its been
cold upstairs so she comes down to our bedroom to sleep because its warmer. Another one of our spoiled animals. Hum...do you think Lane will get spoiled?? Of course by his grandparents he will!!!
I had a baby gate up in the door way of the nursery to see if that would keep Cali out of the room and it did until Thursday morning then she figured it out. But I think she stays away from the crib she just runs in there and lays on the floor. I think she thinks she owns every room in the house. She has her “own” bed in the spare bedroom upstairs that I call ‘her room” but she thinks she needs every laying space available.

Justin got home this morning at 8:30, they got rained out. Darn I have nothing for him to do around the house, hehe! I had him pick up some dog food since its a 40lb bag. Maybe he'll surprise me and have the whole house cleaned when I get home. HAHA!!! Wishful thinking. But he works hard during the week so he should have some time to rest.
Tomorrow he is suppose to be helping a friend move some cattle, which he's really excited about.
Me I have nothing going on this weekend, which I'm totally excited about. NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!!!

35 weeks Saturday November 3!!

A Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom on Sunday!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

My Thoughts for the day

Someone said Coffee...now that is all I've been thinking about and I was going to get some after lunch but then I went to go put gas in my car and got back to work and totally forgot about it...blonde moment or pregnancy moment? I might just have to make a trip over to the gas station and get some. No one will miss me at work for a couple minutes??
I mean it is cold out so maybe baby and mommy needs something to warm them up? And it wouldn't actually be coffee it would probalby be hot chocolate my favorite anytime of the year.

Fall=hunting season... My plan this time last year that 2009 hunting I was going to get a Archery tag for deer but then someone goes ahead and gets me pregnant and due around the time of the season(ok so it wasn't just him but since he's not on here I can blame him for now). So this whole year I haven't touched my bow :(
I thought I would just do turkey this year but then I missed the deadline by 4 days, but then my brother in law said that they still have like 50 tags to fill in Brookings County so now I'm wondering if I should apply or not??? The season is Oct-January so I'll have plenty of time or will Baby Lane be taking up all my time? I guess there is always next year...
Justin applied and got a doe tag and I told him I bet he gets one becasue he'll be hunting by himself and not with his wife who seems to be bad luck when it comes to hunting, they all disappear. I'm hoping he does that will be cool.

Running out of room, running out of fabric...as baby grows so does mom and that means mommy's clothes don't fit. Why do they make maternity clothes so darn expensive when you don't wear them for very long? Unless I'm just unusual and getting so big that nothing fits. Of course its getting to be that time of year FALL that its cold out and capris and flip flops don't really work well to keep me warm. But the cool air sure does feel good. When I wake up in the middle of the night and turn the fan on in our room because I'm hot that must mean I have lots of hormones going through me because usually I'm always cold. So now I'm debating if I should go buy some pants or not?? I mean I have a month left is it worth going to spend $30.00 on a pair of dress pants? Maybe I shall look online and see if there are any sales, Old Navy is pretty good about that.
A thing to keep my mind off of coffee!!!

Hope you are enjoying my randomness.

Oh here is one...what do you say when someone says boy you are getting big must be anyday now? Nope another 6 weeks. Do people understand that they should think before they speak?

Or how about this... Are you sure there is only 1 in there? Are you telling me I look fat? Hello don't you think my belly needs to be big just for 1 baby to grow??

Or even how about this one...after someone gets married everyone asks you "When are you going to have kids" and keep asking. Don't you think that people should mind their own business and let the people tell you when they want to have kids when they are pregnant. I know I used to say this but after going through the whole trying and everyone asking are you pregnant yet? I realize that people don't understand that what if the people are having a hard time getting pregnant or are pregnant just not telling people then have a miscarriage do you really think that the person wants to tell everyone they had a miscarriage? I think people need to really think or be in the situation realizing what they are saying.
But I suppose its more or less just a converstation piece and its an exciting time that people want to know. I guess take it with a grain of salt, if that is the correct way to use it.
All I can say is after Baby Lane is born DO NOT ASK when I'm having another one. It won't be for 2-3 years.

Can anyone tell that I'm sitting at work all by my self with no one to talk to so I'm writing it down then people can read later!!

So I know I have to get through the baby coming first but I'm really really excited to get to go to The Stock Show in 2010. We are meeting up with our good friends The Wagners, who have a little boy named Gunnar. Gunnar and Lane will be good friends I have a feeling!! Justin and I were suppose to go to the Stock Show for our honeymoon what 3 years ago and never did so now we have a chance and we can't wait. It will be a nice time to get away for a couple days. My mom is going to babysit which she was very HAPPY to know she gets to have her grandson for the weekend. Not sure if we'll get him back or not. I just hope the weather is decent so we can go because our hotel room is already booked and we can't cancel.

Lets see, what else do I have on my mind this afternoon...

How about this...Who cares about Favre? Honsetly he switched to a different team get over it. Sorry not a football fan so I can say that.

Do you realize that 6 weeks is kind of a long time but then again if you've already went through 7 months and waiting for the last couple weeks it isn't very long? Ok, does that even make sense? Now I'm just rambling on forsure. I guess I better quit.

Hope you enjoyed that, let me know if you like what my mind wonders to.

Spending Time with my Wonderful Husband

Another wedding this past Friday, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures but it was a beautiful reception and dance. We didn't make it to the ceremony but I heard it was a good one. The bride even wore her boots and spurs in the ceremony as she showed them to everyone after lighting the candle!!! I went to high school with the bride and groom and showed horses with the bride. Justin knew the bride through 4H. Of course we didn't stay out to late as Justin is tired come Friday night and well I don't late much longer after 10:30.

Another sleep in Saturday morning, which I'm taking advantage of them for now until our little one comes along! Justin went out to the farm and took Tuff with and I stayed at home with Roper. You would think that they would like being apart for a while but Roper was sitting at the end of the driveway waiting for Tuff to come back home. Everytime he heard a diesel his ears would stick up. But I kept him company for a while we played fetch for an hour, YES an HOUR. I tell you this dog is a fetchaholic none stop running after the ball. Then Justin got back and we both took a nap. Yes a lazy Saturday for us!!! Then we headed over to Arlington to the 1481 Grill for supper with the Vostad's. It was Dave's(Justin's dad) 53rd Birthday so we all had supper there. THEY HAVE AMAZING FOOD!!!!! Then headed home and again were in bed before 11:00.

Sunday was clean the house day, my wonderful husband helped me clean and it felt so good to be home and get some cleaning done. Justin brought his dad's tractor over to our house to fill in some holes in our drive way with gravel. Boy, did that make a difference. Cleaned up Lane's room and took pictures. Here is his room finished.

Here is a picture of one corner with his dresser(which was my grandmas) and the rocking chair.

Picture of his crib and the cool mobile that matches the bedding from one of my friends. Notice the CAT dump truck under his bed, I had to buy it.

Here is his changing table filled with lots of stuff from my shower.

Here is a picture of a diaper bag my friend made me. I love it!

And last a picture of Lane Frost's Rodeo picture that is hanging in one corner of his room. Though Lane can't get any ideas to become a bull rider. Dont think mommy can handle her son being a bull rider. And a shelf with 2 pairs of cowboy boots and a horse.

Sunday was a very windy day, I can't believe how much the wind picked up that afternoon. It sure is fall!!! Today(Monday the 28th) sure is a fall day cold and windy. But this pregnant lady is loving it!!! OH yeah and Sunday I wanted something sweet and sugary so I made M&M cookies. I am a big fan of eating the cookie dough while I'm baking the cookies and of course I had alittle but made sure I backed off of it knowing that isn't good for you sure isnt good for baby inside me. OH IT WAS YUMMY THOUGH!!! And the cookies turned out good I made alot extra so Justin could take them to work.

Now its October(in a few days) and our weekdays/weekend are slowing down and that means I need to get ready for baby to come. "I think" I'm ready I just need to for sure pack my bag, Lane's is all ready and do a few things around the house. But no matter if I'm ready or not he'll come and everything will work out.
Dave(Justin's dad) wanted Lane to come on his birthday, Saturday. Which of course would have been cool but I was not ready for him to come this early and we want to avoid September because there are way to many people in his family and 1 in mine who have birthday's in September so good thing Lane listened to him mommy and he didn't make his apperance.

6 weeks or less left!!!!!!!

Wedding

Saturday, September 19

Jamie & Tyler got MARRIED!!!!

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Wedding!

I was one of the Personal Attendents, I got all the stuff ready for the ceremony which was outside at McCory Gardens. With help from the wonderful groom and groomsmen helping me set up the chairs. It was a hot but little windy day, at least there was some shade for this Very Pregnant Lady and my wonderful husband was there to help me.
Here is a picture of me at 33 weeks and daddy to be. The shirt makes my belly look funny, but the shirt in real life actually looked really cute. Got to the reception and dance and finally got to sit and eat and relax. Then it was the dance. I was acutally feeling great and danced more than I thought I would. Justin had a few to drink so he was wild and crazy dancing right with me.
Two of our good friends getting married, it calls for a GREAT time!

Baby Lane I even think enjoyed the dance. He was moving like crazy all night when mommy was out on the dance floor. I think he really liked when they played AC/DC he was just bouncing around in my belly. I think we will have a crazy one on our hands.

By the time we got home around 12:00-12:30 I think it was I was so tired and sore I went straight to bed and was out like a light. We slept in until 10:00(or at least I did). Went and got some groceries and went out to the farm to let the dogs run and Justin helped his dad. Tuff and Roper were to interested in Dave & Peggy's female dogs to worry about running around. What horny dogs!!! Got home did a few things around the house, mainly sat on my butt because my feet were so sore ate some supper and went to bed. I think I will be taking it easy this week and going to bed early.
Oh yeah my brother woke up Saturday morning with swollen glands, so I'm not aloud to go to my parents house. Poor thing can't eat much because it hurts his throat, hopefully he'll get better soon.

Oh yeah 7 weeks left!!!!!

Well that was it for our weekend, it sure was a fun time. What great Friends we have!!!

Adventure Bound

What a long exciting weekend we had!!!

Friday night started out Steaks at 1481 Grill, which by the way is the best place to eat. Great food. Went with my mom, dad and brother and of course Justin and I. We all had steaks which for Justin is a big thing. So if it snows this week its all his fault. Yummy!!!!
Incase you didn't know my big thing while being pregnant is steak and potatos so that was a great treat for me.

Saturday morning we headed out to Huron for the State Fair, this year it was just a one day deal. Since being pregnant I didn't want to stay to long there and wanted to sleep in my own bed. Which I'm glad becasue Justin and I were tired by the time we got home(as we didnt' get up until 10:00 Sunday morning). Great time, Kelly showed Satruday afteroon for the Angus Special and got 2nd place. That girl is getting better and better every year, Watch Out!! I'm so proud to have her as my niece. Konnor(my nephew) and I went to the FFA petting zoo and the Feeding zoo to see all the baby animals. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more. Then as we were heading back to the camper we had to stop for a Milk Shake. Yummy!!! Great time to bond with my cute nephew and Baby Lane's buddy. As Konnor is very excited for his buddy Lane to come into the world. Konnor wants to show a pig in 4H when he's old enough but Grandpa Dave says no. I told him that him and Lane will have to gang up on Grandpa and get him to buy them pigs to show in 4H. I'm guessing its still going to be a no.
Surprising Justin and I didn't buy anything at the fair other than drinks and food. Though I was very tempted to bring home a lab puppy they had for sale a the FFA Petting Zoo. I love lab puppies. But I know I know, 2 dogs are enough for me expecially when a little baby is coming. Maybe some day!!

Sunday, we just laid around as we were both tired and just wanted a day of relaxing. We went to town to get some supper McDonalds(this pregnant woman likes McD's for some reason) groceries and rented some movies. Nice Relaxing Day together.

Monday, again we slept in hey its a holiday and weekend we have to take the sleeping in now.
Picked up my dad's pickup box trailer and hauled it to our house to clean out the dog house to put some new straw in there and pick up some branches we had taken down a couple weeks ago. A trailer full. Boy did Tuff like his new straw in the house. Justin spred the straw out and Tuff was right in there making his spot in the straw, for a while he wouldn't come out of the house he just wanted to lay in it. Makes me happy and feel good that I know he likes his house. I always feel bad when I have to put them away in their kennel at night. I know they love being outdoors but I sure do miss them inside. Like I said to Justin the other day how spoiled Tuff was when he was little sleeping in our bed and being right there on the couch with us. I miss that. I just can't wait for Baby Lane and Tuff and Roper to play togther. I think Roper will enjoy having someone his size to play with. Oh yeah Monday morning my wonderful husband made french toast and bacon for breakfast. YUMMY!!! It was so good. I guess we ate pretty good this weekend.
Finished up Justin's laundry and did some things around the house getting ready for the next week. Had brats and burgers for supper and watched some tv and headed to bed.
Now Back to work!!!

But we have a busy month ahead of use. 2 weddings in September. Which I think will make September go fast and then it will be October and soon BABY will be here!!! Aaahhh, I know its alittle but when I think of how fast September is going to go it gets me alittle worried. Right now I'm not worried about the labor its being and getting prepared and everything done. Which if you know me I am a planned and things need to be prepared. SO I guess its Nesting time!!!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!!!

No pictures with this blog, hoping to get the nursery "cleaned" and take some pictures of it finalized so everyone can see.

Saturday I had my friend Jamie's bridal shower, Jamie & Tyler are getting married September 19,2009. I am one of the Personal Attendants. Then Justin and I headed to their new home to check it out. They bought a cute acreage north of Brookings.

Justin headed to Nunda for a birthday party at the bar with his friends while I stayed back and at Mom & Dad's and mom and I watched Baby Mama. I had seen it before but thought mom would get a kick out of it. Which she thought it was funny. 10:00 I headed home and hit the bed and was out until 1:30-2:00 when I heard my hubby finally come home. At least he was quiet about it.

Sunday we headed to Sioux Falls to do some shopping which I "think" we have everything ready for baby Lane. Which I have to say we went to Shopko and we bought a few things and it turned out that everything was on sale so we saved some money. Bargian Shopper!! Bought the mattress so now I can wash the bedding and get his crib ready for him. Of course he'll be sleeping in mommy and daddy's room for a while in his cute pack & play that my Aunts bought him.
After we got home we took the dogs out to Dave & Peggy's to run around since I was busy this week, I didn't have much time to play fetch with them. And they love running around at the farm anyway. Of course I had to see the cute puppies. Lady (Dave & Peggy's German Short Hair) had 12 puppies and boy are they growing fast. Very cute!!! I'm glad I only need(see as I say need not want) 2 dogs because I don't know which one I would pick. I told Dave he should just keep all of them. They are keeping one cute little female and they named her Molly which I think is a very cute name. Molly liked ganging up on Tuff, Tuff on the other hand wasn't to sure about this little thing biting his tail. But it sure was cute watching them. Then we headed back home to finish up our stuff to get ready for the work week. I was tired, 3rd trimester is treating me good but is very tiring.

Then off to bed!!

Justin called me last night to let me know that they are staying in this hunting lodge and its a pretty "sweet" place. Tons of mounts everywhere you look. He said there is a cool Buffalo head that has I think he said Indian Carvings in it. He was going to take a picture of it on his phone. He didn't want to talk last night so he could go check the place out. I asked him if he was going to come home or stay there. He said it was a toss up!!!

Had a great week last week but it was just way to busy for me.Wednesday I went to see my friend Jenny and her new baby boy Neil Walker, who was born August 18. What a precious little boy. The faces he makes are way cute! Thursday my friend Abby came up to our house and had supper with me. I made a roast, potatos, and jello. She brought Better Than Sex Cake. Very good!!!

Now on to a 4 day work week and 4 day weekend. Can't wait!! Though I'm very sad beacuse we were suppose to be going to Buffalo,SD this week to see our dear friends Nathan & Erica but since I get car sick on anything over 1 hour drive we decided we'll meet up with them in February for the Stock Show. So I can't wait for November and February. Miss you guys!!

Saturday, August 29 was week 30! 10 more weeks left or less if he decides to come early.
Oh yeah I ordered a car seat cover from Cabela's last week and it says it should be here tomorow, so I can't wait to see that.

Well that is it for now.
Hope you enjoyed this weekend update.

Friends & Family are Wonderful

Saturday, August 15

28 weeks!!! Here is a picture of Justin and I at the wedding we went too.

Thursday, August 20

I had my glucose test at my Dr. Appt. This is where you have to drink some orange flavored drink, which acutally tastes like orange pop. Then wait an hour and go back to the lab and get your blood drawn. Because my blood type is Rh- I had to get a shot (below the waist) as well. So this Dr Appt was filled with things I'm not to fond of. But I did great with the shot and I was on Cloud 9 thinking I could do anything. I said bring on labor!!! Ask me that in 2 months! The Clinic hasn't called me so I'm guessing I passed the test. Dr. G said if I failed I would have to come back for a 3 hour test, not what I want to do. Headed home after the appt and felt alittle bit of "nesting" going on so I cleaned the toilets, cleaned up around the hosue and washed Lane's clothes, boy does he have alot of clothes. Which I hear that is a good thing because they spit up alot.

Saturday, August 22

First went to church that night with mom and my aunt. Being pregnant I think the AC needs to kick in alittle bit higher, boy do I get hot fast. I have been liking these cool days, but when I'm not pregnant I love the hot weather. There was a little baby boy getting baptized and Oh did it make me want Baby Lane to be here(not that I want him to come early) I just want it to be November 5 (my grandmas birthday I hope he comes on). But 2 months and it will be and time is going fast!!

At supper with 2 of my friends, one who lives in MN who I haven't seen in a long time. We ate at Cubby's then went for Ice Cream at Zesto. You can never pass up ice cream. Strawberry the best!!

Then I(Justin was already there) headed out to Elkton for a Engagement Party at a friends of the Vostad's. What a beautiful night it was to sit outside on a farm around a fire. The stars where out and the weather was just perfect. I heard I missed some good food, of course pot luck parties always have good food.

Sunday, August 23

My Baby Shower put on by my wonderful mother and 3 aunts

Lots of friends and family came and brought wonderful very useful gifts. I was very surpirsed at all that we got. I am very blessed to have such amazing friends and family. Konnor my nephew came with his mom(Justin's sister) and he was excited to help me open the presents. Jesse, Konnor's mom, said that he is excited for his "buddy" Lane to come so he can play with him and I guess he wants to give Lane all of his clothes that don't fit him. Which Jesse said won't fit him until he's 5, but its the wonderful thought a soon to be 6 year old has. I told Konnor him and Lane are going to have to buddy up and con Grandpa Vostad into getting a pig. Konnor wants to show pigs but Grandpa V won't get any pigs. I told Konnor if we get a farm I'll buy him a pig, but Justin doesn't think so. We'll see!!!

My aunts and cousins came to our house after the shower to see the nursery, which is all done being decorated just adding all the little things. And we had chicken supper, great family bonding time. Of course time goes fast when we are all together and everyone had to head home and we sat on the couch and rested. Things wear me out fast!! But it was all worth it!!

Now that I have blogged a couple of times let me know what you think. Should I contiune or just stop while I'm here? :)

Achievement Days 2009

Here is Kelly my niece showing her Heifer this year at Achievement Days! She did AWESOME!!

Grand Champion Angus Heifer- Very Proud now on to the State Fair

This is what happens at our house during the week when Justin is gone and I am playing with "the boys" Tuff and Roper. $15.00 Wal-Mart Pool and some hot days.

Big Update...since its been a couple months since the last blog

Hello Everyone,

Alright to speed things up.
June 25,2009 we found out we're having a BOY.
Lane ~ Lane after Lane Frost the bull rider (8 seconds movie) and Gale after Justin's grandfather who was a calf roper. Of course mommy is hoping he'll be a calf roper/steer wrestler and not a bull rider.

We are slowly and surely getting his room finished. (see pictures) The walls are yellow, bedding is yellow, red, blue with baby horses on it.I found letters at Hobby Lobby and painted them blue to hang on his wall. My aunt found these cool vintage horse and little cowboy wall art, in one corner we have a picture of Lane Frost next to a shelf with cowboy boots and a horse on it. Pretty much anything rodeo, horse and cows is the theme for his room.

His clothes selection is getting bigger and bigger. We have noticed he has more camoflauge clothes than mommy and daddy. And lots of road construction outfits so he can be just like daddy.

Its been a very busy summer. A couple trips, weddings, getting ready for baby, relaxing, hanging out with friends. We were suppose to head to Buffalo in September but I found out in June that I get car sick so we decided that 7 months pregnant and a 8 hour car ride wouldn't be a good idea. But Wagner's who we were going to go visit are going to the Stock Show so we have booked our hotel room and are going to be headed out to Rapid in February to hang out with them then. We are very excited!!!!

The end of July a few of my cousins came home from Oregon and Illinois and we headed up to stayed the weekend at my aunts and uncles farm and had a bonfire and of course roasted marshmellows. It was a great time.

August:
My big 24 birthday, nothing special went on. Justin was just glad to be home and not work the weekend. I bought myself Horton Hears a Who for my birthday since that is another one of my favorite movies.

August 15 we had a wedding here in town. The reception was at the brides parents house where they built a cool barn to hold it in. It was one awesome wedding/reception/dance. Justin even danced. Of course he had to dance with the bride to jitter bug because the spinning and being hot didn't go well with his pregnant wife, but he did do alot of slow dances with me. What a wonderful Husband I have!!!

This weekend: August 22-23
Saturday we have a engagement party for some friends and Sunday is my baby shower which I'm excited for and to see some friends I haven't seen for a long time. Should be another great weekend!!

That is all I have for now, I'll try and keep updated on this more than 7 months.

Hope you enjoyed it!

Its Official!!

Bare with me as I always used to think bloging was the stupidest thing ever...

March 2, 2009 marks a big day in our life. We've been waiting and praying for this day to come for a while.
We had been trying since December 2008 to get pregnant and Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. the clinic calls to tell me that my blood test was POSTIVE. I am pregnant!!! Of course I immediately called Justin to tell him and then called my mom who was more than happy that she is going to be a grandma. Monday morning was all happy and excited but it hasn't sunk in 100% for us yet. We dont find out how far along or when I'm due until Tuesday, March 10 with our first ultrasound then I think it will really hit us that we will be parents soon. Dave Vostad is a pretty excited grandpa, he sure likes his grandkids. I think it makes him feel young!!

There couldn't have been a better week for this to happy. Justin turns 23 on Wednesday, March 4 , a great birthday present. I am still getting him crome show cattle stickers to put on his pickup for his birthday since he's always wanted them.

Friday I'm leaving for Buffalo,SD to see our good friends Erica & Nathan Wagner. Erica is expecting a baby boy at the end of April and I get the privledge of riding out with her mother to go out there for the weekend for her 2 baby showers. And Nathan is in the community play that same weekend.

This has been a very busy week for us and very exciting.

I hope you've enjoyed my first blog (ever) and I'll continue to keep you updated on the New Addition to the Vostad Family

Thanks
Megan & Justin
