That Special Feeling

Have you ever got that funny feeling in your stomach when you see someone?
Get red in the face, stumble on words, sweaty palms?

LOVE, what it does to you.

My mom asked me the day we got back from our trip to Rapid City. "Did you ever think being a mom was like this?" I told her no, the feeling a mom has for her baby is undescribable. No words can describe the love I have for my son. I never knew I could love someone so much and a person could take over my world with one look.

Anyway...

New update on our house project.
We have decided to just do laminate in the living room, dining room and kitchen.

The original plan was to just finish the hardwood that is there right now, which is what we want and would look beautiful but with Lane in the house and the pain in the butt it is to finish the floors decided just to put laminate down and be done with it. No sanding, staining and a messy house.

We went to Barrett's Flooring last week and not planning to find anything just to "look" we ended up finding a beautiful laminate wood that we like. And they have just enough on hand for us. Then the lady heard me talking about Lane's bedroom and our bedroom to do the carpet. Of course another opportunity for our business. She told use they have a special on reminate carpet and installing. So we went to the back room and found some carpet, just what I was thinking of doing. We went in just "looking" at flooring and came out with laminate flooring and capret.

It makes me feel good because now our house projects are getting an "end" to them.

The whole upstairs will have 1 floor color and not mix and match.

Lane will be able to crawl on nice soft flooring. Now we just have to wait for our tax return to get the flooring done, and of course Justin to install it. But he doesn't think it should take very long to do. YIPPY!!!

The nice wife that I am was trying to think of a nice gift to get my wonderful husband.

Well Justin has been coyote hunting a couple times these past few months with a friend of his and loves it. Well of all the guns he has he doesn't have one for coyote huning and he's been looking on the internet for one. Well I thought that would be a great gift. So again the nice wife that I am is getting her husband a Mini 14 for his birthday/father's day. Boy will he be a happy camper!!!

Oh yeah last weekend he and his friend Trav shot a fox.

Oh yeah totally random but do you know what holiday is coming up?? EASTER!

That means Cadbury Eggs, OMG that is my favorite thing ever. YUMMY!!! I had to run to WalMart his morning and went by the Easter Candy isle and had to stop and pick up some. YUMMY!!!!

Precious Little Ones

Alright the one thing I have been dreading finally came. Lane is sick.

Last week we went to the Dr and he just had a cold. Friday and Saturday seemed like he was getting better then Saturday night he started figiting with his ear and it was red. So Monday morning Lane's wonderful mommy made an appt to see a Dr. We got in and they had to drain his ear, if you've had this happen to your little one I am so sorry if not I hope you never had to go through that. Lane sat on my lap while I held his head down and arms while the nurse put a suring thing in his ear squirting water in his ear to get all the wax out. Painful for mommy, shocking for Lane. I almost couldn't take it anymore, my baby doesn't cry much so when he does its dreadful. But it was worth it because his ear was pretty bad and now he has an ear infection. They gave him some medicine and told us to give him some Pedilyte (sp) to help clear the mucus. He likes the grape flavor, but it sure doesn't fill him up. So now we are dealing with a happy, coughing, ear infected 4 MONTH OLD.

I don't think any mother, father, or little kid should have to go through being sick. Poor things!
Justin even said it was hard to watch, what a softy!

Lane turned 4 months old yesterday. Though because he had to go to the dr we didn't get his picture taken, so it will be 4 months and a couple days when he gets his picture taken.

Write later just wanted to post that.

One question I have for everyone...

Who reads my blog? With all the "stockers" out there I'm alittle weary about putting information about me and my family and picutres of Lane out there so I'm wondering who all reads this. If no one does then why do I bother blogging. Though I hope there are people out there(family and friends) who read this and enjoy keeping up with my family.

Never know now a days who will be out there on the web reading these things and thinking strange things.

Have a great Tuesday!

3 month Professional Pictures

It's he Handsome!

Lovin' Life

Lane started getting a cold this past weekend while we were gone. Got him to the Dr Tuesday morning but she said his lungs sounded good and that he just has a cold. So nothing to do about it other than let it take its course. Do you know how hard that is on a mother to see her poor little guy have a cold? Good thing he is a happy baby. He's pretty much his normal self smiling like crazy. Just congested and little bit of a runny nose and some matted eyes when he wakes up. Now as of Wednesday afternoon I have a sore throat. YUCK!!! Darn winter cold weather. Why do we live here again? Oh yeah because I would rather have the cold and snow than the hurricanes and everything else. Cold and Snow... it could always be much worse.

Oh yeah we were suppose to go to the Stocks Show with our good friends Wagner's but they moved to Iowa the week before so they weren't going to make the trip back to Rapid. Which totallly understood but we sure miss/missed them. They are now only 3 hours away from us. Erica and I are very excited to have Gunnar their little one who will be 1 year old in April and Lane play together this spring and grow up to be good friends(hunting and horse riding buddies). Good thing Erica's family raises black angus. Though they are a John Deere family we still like them!!! :)

Been back to work for a month now and have been working Monday-Thursday's having a 3 day weekend is AWESOME!!!!! I can't wait until its nice out and Lane and I can go outside and play on the swing set and play with the dogs. This summer is going to be so much fun.

Here is some exciting news!

Justin's brother's friend needs a home for his 9 month old Mastiff (big dog) for a month. Guess where he will call home for that month??? You guessed it Our House We are crazy to let another dog come stay with us. I think its crazy, even though I love Mastiff's and we are helping this guy out giving his dog a place to stay. So we go the kennel up on Tuesday night. Which I think that is how I got sick trying to shovel the snow away from the shed while also taking care of Lane because my husband was laying in bed sick. But then my brother in law came and put the kennel together. So this weekend Tuff and Roper will have someone BIGGER than them to play with. This shall be very interesting. I told my brother in law that a month is a long time I might fall in love with him and not give him back.
Me the one who always said I wanted 3 dogs then after being pregnant I said 2 is enough now we have 1 cat, 2 dogs and a 4 month old plus an extra dog. Now we just need goats, pigs, sheep and cows and horses then it would be Old McDonald Farms!! Anyone want to come join the craziness??

An update on Lane while I'm here blogging.
He will be 4 months old on Monday, February 15. HELLO!!! He is getting so big, smiling all the time. Making plenty of noises I think he gets that from his dad. And moving, he never wants to sit he always wants to stand. He can kind of sit by himself but he ends up either leaning forward or tipping, soon he'll get there. He is now into 6/9 month clothes, though he's not really chunky anymore its more he's growing long like his dad. But he sure is getting heavy, I can't wait until I don't have to haul the car seat and him around. Well just the whole bundling him up gets annoying. Good thing for a $14.00 Cabela's snow suit. Oh yeah did I tell you that Justin and I went to Cabela's in Rapid and walked out of there with NOTHING. I wasn't very impressed and they hardly had anything for kids. The Cabela's in Mitchell is better and I miss Sportsman's Warehouse in SF, we spent a lot of $$$$ there.

Anyway... Lane is so much fun!!!

My mom asked me the other day if I pictured life with a baby this way. I said I never knew how much you could love someone or the feeling you have being a mom. I don' think there are words to describe it its just WONDERFUL!

When Justin and I ate at Al's Oasis I got the idea to paint baby cows and a cowboy and horses on his wall. They have shadow paintings on the wall. So now that is my idea to do in Lane's room. It will fit perfect in his room since its filled with horses and cowboys. I just hope he grows up liking horses!! I'm sure he will his life is all horses now. Early persuading, nothing wrong with that?

Next week Lane will get his 4 month shots and its Uncle Jesse's (my brother) 22nd birthday. I can't believe my little brother is going to be 22. Then March 4 is Justin's 24th birthday. Justin's sister turned 30 Feb 9, we give her crap for turing the big 30!

Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Years go by so fast so have fun and treasure every minute of the day.

Live Life to its fullest!

Vacation in Rapid

Well Justin and I had our first vacation away from Lane and actually our first vacation alone just the 2 of us.

We went to Rapid City for the Stock Show & Rodeo. We left Friday morning, dropped Lane off which was really hard for me. Headed on the road at 8:00 a.m. The roads were alittle slick but we just took Hwy 14 and took our time. We got to about Huron and the roads started to look better. All I could think about was LANE, LANE, LANE.

Got to Pierre around 12:00 and met up with a Dear Friend Hannah and her husband Eric. Hannah and I were in 4H together. We met up with them for lunch at the Long Branch. Very good food. Then back on the road to RC.

Got to Rapid I think around 3:00(west river time). Got to our hotel and then drove around went to the Rushmore Mall to check out their "western stores" which I was disappointed in.

Picked up food at Hardee's, which we love because we don't have one in Brookings and went back to our hotel room.

Friday day/night was the worst for me, which I'll admit I had tears in my eyes bceause I was missing Lane. But I knew he was in good hands with Grandma and Grandpa S. Pretty sure he got spoiled this weekend.

Saturday we got up and got ready to go to the Stock Show. We ate at IHop for a late breakfast/early lunch. YUMMY!! IHop pancakes and breakfast...can't get any better than that.

Headed to the Civic Center to walk through all the vendors. Sure was a lot to look at and dream of wish we could buy everything. Justin was in love with the CAT booth and all the horse trailers.

They had a horse trailer there for $94,000.00 that's right $$$$$$$!!!! Thought about selling our house and buying it but a house is a good thing to have. Maybe some day when Lane wins the Wrangler National Finals he can buy his mommy and daddy a nice horse trailer!! I can wish can't I?!?

I ended up buying more for Lane than I did myself. Got a BHSS shirt and bought Lane a BHSS sweatshirt, it wont fit him until maybe this winter or next but it was cool because inside the hood had the fabric that his diaper bag is made of. Bought him a Sturigs shirt from Wall and a Lane Frost Challenge of Champions dvd. Which Justin and I watched when we got home and its a really good video. And we stopped at Children's Place in the mall and bought him a bunch of pants, shirts and sweatshirts because everything was on sale. Good deals and I bought him this cute hat for a dollar. Which he can wear now and looks very cute in(I'll get a picture) but it sometimes covers his eyes when he moves his head.

Anyway...after walking around and spending money we went back to the hotel and got ready for the rodeo. The rodeo was really cool, I actually think its better than the rodeos here in Brookings. Well worth the money for the tickets. Actually we got to see Chris' LeDoux's son Beau LeDoux ride broncs. Way cool!

We were TIRED come the end of the rodeo and we headed back to the hotel and went to bed.

Sunday we got up and did a little shopping around town, just checking RC out. and again we ate at IHop, this time I had lunch which I don't think sat well with my stomach. We ended up going back to the hotel and took a long nap. We pretty much laid around Sunday, which was nice and relaxing but I was itching to get out but wasn't feeling the best.

Monday, we got up and headed out. Visibility wasn't the best so we were going pretty slow. Stopped at Al's Oasis and ate lunch and by the time we got to Mitchell roads were clearing up. And it was clear to Brookings. Got to town around 2:00 and first thing was my little boy in my arms. Grandma was disappointed because she said she still had 1 more hour with him, but let his mommy see him.

We didn't even take any pictures while we were on vacation. But we sure had fun!!
