Mental Breakdowns are OK?

So I was talking to a friend of mine who's little boy turned a year old this month and how she had a mental breakdown the other day because her little boy is a year old. I told her I'm glad that you had one becuase I thought I was the only one freaking out that my little baby that for me 10 months ago I gave birth too. (well Dr's pulled out of my belly) Is not much of a baby anymore as a little boy.

Lane had his 9 month pictures taken last month and that is when it really hit me that he's not a baby. Those pictures made him look so much like a boy, no more baby face. Dana Kay Photography, she does a great job at captureing Lane's personality and cute smile.

9 month picture

Those of you with babies, kids, teens, adult kids know how fast time can go. I never really realized it until Lane was born and those 2 months I was home with him that all days just kind of ran together and wondering where the morning went or what the heck did I just do an hour ago because you are so busy. Maybe its because I was taking care of another human being who relied on me every second, minute of the day. Where just the other day I was coming home playing with the dogs and finding addicting tv shows to watch each night to pass the time so Friday woudl come and Justin would be home.

And now Lane being 10 months old more like 10.5 months old will be turning that big 1 year old very SOON. I think it was at 6 months I told myself I was not ready for my baby to be a year old. And I just kept telling myself that and maybe that is what is freaking me out or just that fact that I won't have a "baby" anymore.

He's changed so much and is learning so many new things. He now waves bye and hi. At daycare Diane gets a double wave. Its so cute watching his little hand wave. The other day he learned to climb stairs at grandma and grandpa's house, of course supervised. He's getting some solid foods in little portions. My aunt found a food grinder so I've been grinding some of my foods for him. He leans over his high chair tray to see what is on mommy's plate now. In his mind he's thinking "All this time mom has been hiding the good food."

Anyway...where was I going with this. Oh yeah.
Even though I'm ready for him to do the stuff 1 year old kids do I'm just not ready to except the fact that my baby is going to be a year old. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one having a breakdown about this. Great to have "mommy friends"

Now I'm in the process of getting a 1 year old birthday party together. Though I've decided to just do a family part grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins close family. And I think the theme will be barnyard animals. Or something to do with animals.
I was going to go with the cowboy/western theme but decided to do that when he gets older. Also the "road construction" theme when he gets older. More into the truck phase.

Have a great week!

School has started here and soon Labor Day weekend will be here that means State Fair and then fall.

Random Thought(s) for Wednesday

1. Why do people ask when you are going to have another baby?

What do people care if or when you are going to have another and if your baby is 3 months or 1 yr. Why do they laugh or roll their eyes when they ask and you say soon or later?
And I will be the first to admit I have asked people and thought people where nuts if they had a baby one right after another, but its their life not mine. And who am I to judge, there are things they wouldn't do that I've done so why do I care what they do.

My daycare lady was saying how when Lane is 2 that mommy and daddy will have to start having another one becaue more than 3 years apart is to much. I was like who are you to tell me when I should have more or that you can't just have 1 because then they will be spoiled and that "they" say that parents shouldn't have 1 kid becasue then they become lonely and spoiled. I would like to know how many kids they "tested" to see if just because you are a only child you are lonely. I for a fact know a girl who is a only child and she may be a little spoiled but she's not lonely. And what is wrong with being spoiled as long as mom and dad don't teach them to be spoiled rotten and think they can get anything they want and get away with it. Grandparents spoil their grandkids so why can't parents spoil their kids?

If you have your first baby doesn't that one get a little spoiled at the beggining, so are they saying we should have twins to start out with? HECK NO!!
I mean if you are a billionaire and have 1 or 5 kids wouldn't they all be spoiled?

I know asking people when their next one is coming is just a converstaion piece jsut like when your dating is "When are you going to get married?" or after your married "When are you going to have kids?" Now I can see those to but why is it anyones business when someone is going to have another kid. Are they going to come to your house and take care of them for you because they are the ones that want you to have another one? Yeah right!

There is my first random thought for the day.

2. Clothes for plus sizes.
I go to Maurices and try to find clothes. I think they shrunk the regular sizes down so little 5 year olds can fit in their smalls and teens fit in Larges.
They get a Plus Size section and its one corner of the store. Why do they have ot make a "special" section for plus size. Why can't they just add the same design to the rack but XL,0,1,2,3 is it that hard. I mean you make the plus size people be sucluded so everyone can see that they are plus size. Discrimination.
And then second their is a plus size but who they heck wants to buy those clothes they are just over sizes shirts not oversizes pretty shirts. Why dont they make the same style of clothes in plus size as they do S-XL, it can't be that hard and you already up the prices anyway so I think plus size people would pay a couple $$ more to get nice clothes.
Plus Size people are human beings and deserve to look beautiful just like the "regular" size if you want to call them that.
Clothes are just getting smaller and more pricer. Why aren't jobs getting better and more pay?

There is my 2 random thoughts for the day. Now that I've thought 2 things today I can rest!

Summer is leaving and fall is approaching

I came across this in a calendar at work and thought it was worth sharing.
~Gifts that come to you from God are grace gifts. His grace gifts to you will be different than the grace gifts. He gives to others…The gifts that have been given to you from God are the perfect gifts that are needed for you to fulfill His will and His calling in your life. ~

Start this week off with a ½ hour massage from Anna a friend from High School. I try and get there once a month but sometimes the month slips by and I don’t get there. It is so relaxing and worth every penny. Which she only charges $20.00 for a ½ hour and around here that is very reasonable. If you’ve never gotten a massage I suggest you do, it relives a lot of stress and tension on your body. When I’m done there I feel like a 100 lb weight has been lifted off my back. Other than I’m tired from this past weekend the Monday Massage is awesome.
Now I’m just waiting for Friday to get here.

I guess this week is Pamper Megan Week, even though last week was my birthday.
Friday I’m going to SF with mom to meet up with my Aunt and get my hair colored. I’m going BLONDE, well I’m blonde now but more of a what I call Jessica Simpson blonde. Don’t worry it’s not my whole head I’m getting a weave.

Our house project isn’t getting anyway fast. We have everything torn out and still just letting it dry. I kind of like Lane’s room upstairs and I think he sleeps better because it stays a little warmer in there than downstairs. But the way he tosses and turns at night he should be sweating. He is a bed hogger like his mom and dad. Anyway getting back to the rooms I don’t like the idea of having Lane on the main floor and us in the basement. And I want to keep the spare bedroom upstairs as a toy room. So I’m sure his room will move back down. His room has really dried up good and I think it should be clear for him to go down. I’ve just been freaked out about putting him in there. We have to move back down there because I’m not living with our mattress in the middle of the living room floor forever. Though it has been kind of cool I like the bedroom s where they were. Though I’ve been getting used to everything upstairs its going to be a change going back to the old way. Funny how you get a custom to something so fast.

Going to do a Random Thought so doing a new post. Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my strange blog!

God is Awesome!

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

This weekend is a start of a very busy month.

Saturday we had a wedding of a friend of mine from high school. It was so much fun and she looked beautiful. No pictures since I forgot my camera. Like I had nothing on my mind but to bring my camera.
Lane stayed at my parents Saturday night to Sunday. Justin and I stayed at the wedding dance for a little bit to shake our booties!! We were home and in bed by 11:00.
Sunday we got up around 9:00, which I woke up at 7:00 and couldn't get back to sleep.
Started the demolition in our bedrooms. It didn't take us as long as we thought, we were done by noon. Lane's room had the most mold on the walls but that is because the water came through the window and poured onto the wall.
Tore sheetrock out, took out the foam insulation, some 2x4's and started cleaning and bleaching the walls. And now its the drying process. Which seems to be drying fast but we wont replace everything for a couple weeks to give it a 100% dry.
Though I'm scared to put our bedrooms back down there. I think Lane's room will stay upstairs for a long time if not just perment. I'll have to see how I can handle him being on the main floor and us in the basement. If only we had lots of $$$$ to finish our atic and then we could put our room up their. Anyway going to win the lottery and give a couple thousand?? :) Just kidding!!!
Which now our house smells like bleach and the downstairs is a mess. But my bathroom is clean!!! Actually I was so freaked to go downstairs or just never went down there that I forgot to give Lane a bath last week. I've been giving him a bath every other day and realized that Thursday night he didn't get one this past week. Opps, good thing he doesn't get very dirty. So Sunday night he took a bath and Justin came to sit with us. Lane loves getting into the water.

Then we headed into town to pick Lane up, which he was having a blast with Grandma, testing her to see how close he could get to the basement stairs and Ginger's food. All kids "test" dog food. I got greeted by Lane with a big slobber kiss and hug. He's into the getting in your face and "sucking" slobbering your face with kisses. I think he gets it from me because I like giving him kisses all the time. He started doing this squinting eyes thing when he smiles and I realized he got that from me because I would do that to him. He catches onto things way to fast. Smart Guy on our hands! I'm guessing he'll be walking soon. He picks up alot of new things at daycare. He also started to roll cars across the floor. He was playing with his tractor Grandpa V gave him yesterday and just crawling along moving the tractor. He also got his cell phone and went from the kitchen to the dining room back to the kitchen with it in his hand and crawling. Needless to say its scratched up. He got a demo cell phone fromt he Verizon place. A friend of ours works there and gave me one for Lane to have instead of giving him my old one.

This weekend we have a birthday party for Justin's cousin's little boy. I think lunch at the park and then there is swimming afterwards so its my idea to take Lane to the pool. Friends of ours little girl loves the pool and I think they will be there too so it should be alot of fun. Lane likes the water and if anything he can check out the little girls in their swim suits!! And then after the birthday party we have another wedding. Another busy Saturday but that gets us out of our house.

Tonight we are going to my parents hosue for corn on the cob and hamburgers for my birthday. Yummy!!
This week is also Achievement Days for 4H. Sad thing is no Vostad's are in it this year. Kelly has been busy with fast pitch which their team has done awesome and made it to National(i think). She is an awesome pitcher.
But Thursday is Round Robin and I plan to take Lane there to show him the animals and I think Grandma P will want to show him off to everyone. I have to show him to my favorite Science Teacher, hoping she will be there.
Friday again I have nothing planned but Grandma P is on vacaton this week so we might go visit her and hang out with her.

That was our busy weekend in a nut shell. Hope anyone who reads our blog enjoys it.

No thoughts for the day, or atleast morning because today is my 25th birthday and I've noticed I'm already forgetting things.
My mom called me this morning and asked how my day was going and I said Fantastic. There is an advantage of having my birthday on a Monday...MY BOSS is gone!! the day to myself!!! Or sit on facebook or my blog and write.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and week!
My birthday wish this year is for everyone who is dealing with water damage and flooding that they can get it cleaned up and no more water comes their way.
